<<< Update – July 2020: Our services are now operating normally, with precautions in place. >>>
On Monday 23 March 2020, the UK government announced that all citizens should stay at home unless absolutely necessary, to help reduce the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19). This ‘lockdown’ period is expected to last at least three weeks.
In line with this:
- Whitfield Architects has paused face-to-face appointments [Update: Resumed July 2020]
- However, our services will continue as normal in all other respects
To explain more, here’s a step-by-step guide to our current operations (our process is also detailed here):
FEE ESTIMATE (FREE) – As always, if you’d like to get an idea of architect fees and the overall process for a future project, please email hello@whitfieldarchitects.com for a quick response.
CONSULTATION (FREE) – We can arrange either a remote appointment (phone/digital) or a face-to-face appointment on a future date (post-lockdown).
SURVEY – We can arrange a survey on a future date (post-lockdown), to follow a consultation. Property access required, but no personal contact.
DESIGN – Business as usual – we’re still creating concept design drawings of layout options and proposed plans.
PLANNING – Business as usual – we’re still preparing, submitting and monitoring applications. We’re in touch with various local planning authorities and the service is currently operating normally (except for site visits).
BUILDING REGULATIONS – Business as usual – we’re still completing technical drawings and specifications; and liaising with building inspectors on plan checks (local authority and private).
CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT – Mostly business as usual – We’re still offering assistance with build quotes, drawing changes and troubleshooting chats with your builder (by phone/email). Site inspections to resume post-lockdown.
